2011 award : Best technical product application in Canada
For the third consecutive year and in association with Schluter-Systems, we have been honored by the tile industry (TTMAC) with the best technical product application of 2011 in Canada. The award winning bathroom features a flamboyant combination of multicolored stone and glass mosaics – Original design by Marie-Caroline Kaestli . Our project was selected among many other participants across the country for its technical merits, by a committee of engineers, architects and other industry experts. This master suite bathroom required a structural reinforcement of the original sub-floor joists, a mortar bed preparation over an electrical radiant floor, a system of waterproofing and uncoupling membranes, and specialized installation mortars including epoxy grout. The glass mosaic from Bisazza is installed in a custom degradé pattern and the floor is made of another flashy stone mosaic made of tinny grey, black and white marble pieces. The doorless and curbless shower contributes to the modern open space style with its seamless transition between the bathroom and shower floor. And the huge free standing bath allows for a complete relaxing and soaking experience.
