Duckboard shower
This small basement bathroom combines an installation of ceramic tiles on the floor and glass mosaics on the walls. A wall mounted toilet, a suspended sink and a doorless shower were used to maximize space. The shower basin has been recessed to accommodate a teak duckboard in a seamless transition with the bathroom floor. The duckboard shower floor is easily removable and covers a 2×2” mosaic installation, grouted with epoxy grout. The custom built shower niche houses two glass shelves for additional storage. Finally, the bathroom floor was built using a reinforced cement mortar bed and all the surfaces were waterproof with Schluter’s membranes.
