The shower structure is an important element of the custom shower system that is often overlooked and improperly prepared. Unqualified tile installers accounts for most of shower failures. However, dimensionally unstable construction could also crack the waterproofing membrane and the tile work. As a result, it is crucial to consult with a qualified tile setter before having a general contractor prepared the shower structures as it is difficult to assess the work after it has been resurfaced with the shower boards.
Our approach to custom shower building is different from the traditional practice, as we construct with reinforced mortar beds and extruded polystyrene foam. These materials are not subject to the expansion and contraction movements of conventional wood structures and they provide more versatility for custom shower dimensions, niches, benches, sills, walls and podiums.
