Natural stone tiles are softer and more sensitive to floor movements and deflection than porcelain tiles. As a result, the plywood substrate preparation needs to be thicker, stiffer and uncoupling membranes are highly recommended regardless of the floor deflection test results. In addition, the stone capillary makes them also very sensitive to the adhesive’s color, and curing times. Controlling humidity levels is therefore critical in preventing unwanted chemical reactions with the stone impregnator. The following are some examples of our installations projects of stone tiles:
